The Bombay High Court on Tuesday dismissed a plea seeking to stop the release of the film, "The Kashmir Files". The film can now be viewed from March 11, it's scheduled release date.
A petition was filed seeking a stay on the release of the film starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty and others. The petition had stated that the film could trigger violence.
A UP resident Intezar Hussain Sayed stated that the trailer seemed to depict that the movie is about Muslims killing the Kashmiri Pandits, thereby hurting the religious sentiments. He also claimed that the whole movie showed one-sided view of the incident which could ignite members of the Hindu community.
"This movie will not only hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community but also ignite emotions and inflame members of the Hindu community with a clear possibility of triggering violence in all parts of India," the plea had stated.
