A Special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court on Monday rejected the bail plea of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh (73) in an alleged money laundering case registered against him.
Deshmukh was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on November 2. The investigating agency had strongly opposed his bail plea.
Last week, a team of CBI official had reached the Arthur Road Jail (where Deshmukh is currently lodged) to record the statement of the former minister.
