According to reports from ANI, The Court of Special Judge in Assam's Hailakandi district has sentenced a man for 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 for sexually abusing a 11-year-old minor boy four years ago.
He has been booked under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.
This incident is said to have taken place in June 2018 and a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged by the minor's father. The police had arrested the man and submitted the chargesheet in the same month.
