A few days after the Government unveiled the new "Agnipath" recruitment scheme for enrolling in armed forces, huge protest erupted in Bihar as Armed forces aspirants protested in several parts of the state including Chhapra, Jehanabad, Munger and Nawada and demanded the withdrawal of the scheme.
The aspirants claimed that they are unhappy with the changes introduced under the new recruitment scheme -- particularly the length of service, no pension provisions for those released early, and the age group limit of 17-21 which makes many of them ineligible.
- Rail and Road service were erupted in Jehanabad whereas tyres were burned and a bus was vandalised in Chappra. A train was also set on fire at Bhabua Road Railway Station.
