Prophet Muhammad Controversy: Naveen Jindal's fam leaves Delhi post repeated death threats.

On Saturday, dismissed BJP leader Naveen Jindal's family left Delhi after receiving series of death threats since he supported suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for quoting Islamic Hadiths on Prophet Muhammad on a TV debate.

  • I am still living in Delhi. Out of fear my family has left the city. This is an exodus,” Jindal said.

Taking to Twitter earlier today, Jindal shared a screenshot of a phone number from which he is getting death threats. Jindal said he had received death threats directed at himself and his family from unknown people and tagged Delhi Police, Commissioner of Delhi Police and Lt Governor to take notice immediately.

Jindal also alleged that some people had followed him a few days ago when he had gone to meet someone. Police have taken the his complaint seriously as there were reports that unknown people had done a recce of his house.

Islamist Rage Across India

On Friday, June 10, India witnessed the Islamist rage spreading across the nation in multiple cities in the form of massive violent protests.

The mayhem broke out after the Friday Namaz or Jumma where Muslims gathered in large numbers raising slogans against the ex-BJP leaders Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal demanding their arrest and calling for their beheading. Rape threats have also been given to Nupur Sharma for her controversial remarks on the Prophet Muhammed.

Some of the majorly violence-hit states include West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi among other states and UTs.

The police and security forces later had to open fire in some states because of the uncontrollable mobs' pelting stones. As per reports, many police personnel have been severly injured whilst 2 protestors have been shot dead among the other injured rioters.
