AAP workers protesting CBI raid outside Sisodia's residence detained

On Friday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers gathered outside Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence were detained by the Delhi Police, after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided his premises.

They are announcing that they have imposed Section 144 here. Nobody raised slogans or misbehaved, or we did not do anything what do they fear? The more they stop us, the bigger we will grow,” said an AAP worker who was protesting against CBI raid.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Alka Lamba said that her party welcomes the CBI raid.

Since early morning today, the CBI raided 21 locations in seven states as part of its investigation into alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy, which was implemented in November 2021. In this case, the CBI has also filed a FIR.

Earlier in July, Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena had recommended a CBI probe into Delhi’s revamped excise policy.
