Former Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh set to join BJP next week; likely to plan party merger

Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is set to join the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) next week on Monday, September 19.

  • He is also likely to merge his newly formed political party, Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) with the BJP in the national capital on September 19.

Singh (80), had floated the Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) last year after quitting the Congress on informal terms.

This development comes days after Singh met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. He fought the Punjab assembly polls in alliance with the BJP.
