Class 12 student dies of cardiac arrest in Navsari school

On Monday, a 17-year-old girl, Tanisha Gandhi, died of sudden cardiac arrest while climbing stairs with friends during recess at AB School in Navsari. The girl who lost her mother to Covid-19 two years ago was climbing the stairs during recess with her friends. She suddenly started feeling breathless and sweating profusely.

After experiencing sudden breathlessness and sweating, Tanisha Gandhi collapsed while climbing stairs during recess at AB School in Navsari. Despite being rushed to the nearest private hospital, she was declared dead due to cardiac arrest. The postmortem report is still awaited. According to AB School Principal Amrut Chhatrola, Tanisha tried to hold the stair railing but couldn't, and her friends alerted the staff for help.

"We rushed her to the nearest hospital in the school car. The doctor present there told us that she had died of sudden cardiac arrest," said Chhatrola. Tanisha was a bright student and was preparing for NEET. "It's a very unfortunate happening. She wanted to become a doctor. She stayed with her father, a physics teacher while her mother died two years ago during Covid," said school authorities.

Gujarat has witnessed several cases of young and middle-aged people dying of sudden heart attacks over the last few months.
