According to sources within the BJP, Eknath Shinde will remain the chief minister of Maharashtra. The sources dismissed claims made by the Uddhav Thackeray camp and the Congress that Ajit Pawar had been promised the CM's post.
The sources also stated that it was unlikely for the Speaker to suspend any legislator.
Furthermore, the BJP sources expressed confidence that none of the MLAs who had supported Ajit Pawar would go back to the NCP.
