Ahead of Independence Day, Akashvani (All India Radio) hosted a special live musical event titled "Rhythm of Azadi" at New Delhi's Ranj Bhawan. The event featured the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Central Jazz Band performing at the All India Radio studio on August 8, as part of the celebrations for India's 79th Independence Day on August 15.

The ITBP Jazz Band's performance blended military tradition with cultural expression, reflecting the theme of "Rhythm and Azadi" (Freedom). This event is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative by the Ministry of Culture to commemorate India’s independence.

Formed after the 1962 Sino-Indian War to boost morale along the Himalayan borders, the ITBP combines military discipline with musical talent. The event also aligns with the "Sadbhavna Diwas Vishisht" celebration, highlighting ITBP’s cultural efforts to promote harmony. These efforts are supported by the Himveer Wives' Welfare Association, which has served over 88,000 members since 1998, strengthening community resilience.
