As Kerala readies for Onam, Quaker has launched its regional initiative Quaker Onam Mahoatsavam to showcase oats as a versatile ingredient for festive dishes. Kerala holds a special place in Quaker’s journey in India, with oats pairing well with staples like coconut, jaggery, curry leaves, and spices, making them easy to include in traditional recipes.
Made with natural wholegrain, Quaker Oats provide complex carbohydrates, dietary fibre, and beta glucan, a soluble fibre that helps reduce cholesterol. Their high fibre and protein content make them a nutritious choice for festive cooking.
Speaking about the initiative, Saakshi Verma Menon, Chief Marketing Officer – Foods, PepsiCo India said:
Through culturally rooted campaigns and seasonal integrations, Quaker aims to cater to the evolving tastes of urban India, where the demand for food that blends indulgence with nutrition is stronger than ever. The consumers of Kerala have embraced Quaker into their lives and by driving culinary innovations, Quaker continues to inspire new ways to celebrate festivities with nutrition. Wishing everyone celebrating, a wholesome, healthy and delightful Onam.
The campaign features digital content by celebrated chefs and food enthusiasts who have reimagined Onam favourites such as Avial and Payasam with oats. Building on last year’s culinary campaign Ishitavibhavam eni Quaker oatne oppum (Mann Chaha Khana, Quaker se banana), this second edition partners with renowned Chef Ranjith Elavoor. He travels across Kerala’s 14 districts, uncovering iconic dishes and their origins while adding a nourishing twist with oats.
These creations celebrate the traditional plantain leaf spread, blending cultural richness with modern nutrition. Recipes are available on Quaker India’s Instagram and YouTube through easy-to-follow videos, reinforcing Quaker’s growing engagement in Kerala with a focus on quality, consistency, and regional preferences.
