An injured Greater Flamingo was rescued from the Navy Base in Colaba on Saturday by members of NGO, Wildlife Welfare Association.
The official at the Navy Base had called the NGO after spotting the lone bird in distress.

"The bird remained at the spot for almost a week and did not fly away to join a flock," said Aditya Patil of WWA. It took almost an hour to rescue the Flamingo as it tried going into the sea. The bird was taken to a veterinarian who found that it had injured its left wing. The NGO has said to take care of the bird till it is fit to fly.
