2 days ago The Opposition Party Congress had allegedly blamed Yediyurappa's government of corruption and interruptions of his family in political work and mishandling of COVID-19 situation in Karnataka.
A heated argument between Opposition leader Siddaramaiah and CM Yediyurappa took place with the session stretching late into Saturday Night.
Yediyurappa made a bold statement and said that he would happily step down as the CM of the state if Congress are able to prove their allegations correct and if they are not able to prove then you(Siddaramaiah) should resign.
After showing endless WhatsApp conversations and audios of Yediyurappa's son Vijayendra telling a representative of a channel that government officials have been taking bribes in the name of CM, the Congress were not able to win.
The opposition Janata Dal (Secular) did not support the motion. Several BJP MLA's who didn't show up on six days assembly session also attended the dicussions on the no confidence motion resulting in majority in favour of Yediyurappa's government and Congress's failure.
