After all the speculation around JEE being postponed to December, the decision finally arrived by Supreme Court that exams must take place now and not in December as students might lose 1 year of their academy because of it.
So the Joint Entrance Exam(JEE) Main took place starting from yesterday. The first day saw a low attendance of around 65-70% According to a government official.
Day One was meant only for candidates registered only for paper 2. That paper is also know as B.Arch and B.Planning. Now according to records, around 1 lakh students are said to appear for Paper 2 on Tuesday.
Apart for low attendance, the examinations went on smoothly around the country and higher education secretary Amit Khare thanked the states for their cooperation on Tuesday.
A Senior Offical said that Paper 2 has always seen low attendance as students who are serious with architecture are the ones who write it. Many register for it but do not turn up for paper 2.
Distribution of masks, social distancing, hand santizing were some of the precautions taken by the government to conduct the exams.
Unlike other years, offcourse there was no crowd outsider the centres or parents waiting for the child to return from the exams. In some centres announcement of social Distancing also took place and each students were given a 3 ply mask.
