After being grilled for nearly 8 hours, Gaurav Arya left the ED office in Mumbai on Tuesday. He exited the office from the back door. Gaurav Arya - the alleged drug dealer whose name appeared in Rhea Chakraborty's text chats, appeared in front of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday morning(1st September).
Earlier this morning(1st September), the CBI team has communicated that there is a change in the date of summons to Rhea Chakraborty and that a new date will be announced soon. A review meeting was underway between the CBI's investigators and its Delhi team.
Key accused Rhea Chakraborty's parents were seen leaving the DRDO guesthouse after CBI grilled them on Tuesday for nearly 9 hours. Rhea Chakraborty's parents had been summoned by the CBI at 11 am today for interrogation.
Massive crackdown on drug cartel
On Tuesday, NCB seized 3.5 kgs of marijuana (bud) sourced from USA and Canada in Delhi and Mumbai. The agency has learnt that the drug operations in Mumbai had links with a person in Goa who in turn had links to several celebrities. The investigating agency has identified the role of three persons in the cartel. Further investigations in the case is underway.
Breaking News:- The NCB has remanded two persons in connection with the drug cartel. As per sources, both of the individuals were in contact with key accused Rhea Chakraborty's brother Showik Chakraborty. The NCB team is at present interrogating the two persons and is also expected to remand a few more individuals in connection with the case.
- Two drug peddlers have been held and taken into NCB custody. The development came hours after sources claimed that four 'big names' were under lens in the probe related to the Sushant case, which included two politicians, one actor and one filmmaker.
- Th NCB probing the Sushant Singh Rajput case has submitted a list of 18 names active in the drug cartel to the Mumbai Police. This is after two drug peddlers were taken into custody earlier in the day.
- "Earlier in the day, NCB had taken two suspects into custody, furthering the probe into the case. According to sources, the NCB will require this list of 18 people to be brought in for questioning in the next 48-72 hours," sources claimed.
[Siddharth Pithani, who had been called for questioning multiple times, told the CBI that Sushant was tense after celebrity manager Disha Salian's death.
"When Sushant got to know about Disha's death, he became unwell, after which he spoke to Uday, manager of a company called Cornerstone. This company sent Disha as Sushant's celebrity manager when Shruti Modi had an injury. Sushant had become very tense after the news of Disha's suicide on the 9th of June. Because of this tension, he asked me to sleep in his bedroom. He kept asking me for every single information about Disha's death, I gave him every information," Pithani's statement to CBI states.
He also claimed that prime accused used to 'shop a lot' on Sushant's cards and sold items in the house.
"When I asked about Rhea, Sushant started crying and said that everybody left me and I will be with you, I calmed him down. The house was taken in December 2019, I got to know through house manager Samuel Mirinda. When I inquired further, I got to know that Rhea Chakraborty does a lot of shopping using Sushant's credit card and household items were also being sold slowly", Pithani said to the CBI.]
