CM Uddhav Thackeray and Devendra Fadnavis visit flood hit areas in Maharashtra

On Monday, Maharashtra's Chief Minister Udhaav Thackeray and leader of opposition party and former CM Devendra Fadnavis began their tours to visit the flood hit states in Maharashtra and the Marathwada region to check the damage.

Thackeray was also joined by revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat and relief and rehabilitation Minister Vijay Wadettiwar. They visited Solapur first on Monday.

Thackeray would assure the villagers that the government will help them and do not lose hope as he has come to help them. Some of the villagers were not pleased by this and said that Thackeray should have instead come to the spots affected and not to just check the condition of the stock.

Where Thackeray was traveling across Solapur and Sangvi village, former CM Devendra Fadnavis took his team and visited rain affected areas of Baramati and in Daund Tehsil of Pune District.

He announced a relief package immediately after seeing the surveying the places and urged the state government to help the farmers without getting into procedures of "conducting panchnama(assessment)".

He even took a shot at Uddhav and his government and said that when he was the CM he didn't wait for Centre funds and announced a Rs 10 Crore package. He also mentioned that as soon as they( other members of the Thackeray government) heard that he was going out to visit the affected places, they all left their home and decided to do some charity work.
