MSRTC Bus Driver Arrested For the Accident On the Mumbai-Pune Expressway

 

The Mumbai Police has now arrested the the Bus Driver of an MSRTC bus that meet with an accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway killing one and injuring 16 people in the process. The accident took place at Night around 1:30 am when the driver said that a speeding trailer had hitted the bus. Upon Investigation and interrogation the police have now arrested him for providing false information.

Driver of the bus, Jagannath Kisan Raut(48) had tried to overtake the speeding trailer but was unsuccessful which resulted in this major accident. 

"After we detained the trailer driver Bajrang Sharma, he revealed that it was the bus driver who tried to overtake him from the left side. We confirmed this from other witnesses and when questioned, the MSRTC Driver too accepted this role" Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Daundkar.

In Investigation it is found that Raut had to take a left turn ahead to go towards Panvel Depot for which he tried to overtake the trailer from the left side and collided with it injuring all people on the right side of the bus and killing Ganesh Kadam (36) a BEST driver from Satara who was on his way to join back work in Mumbai after Diwali.

Raut has been arrested under the IPC Section of 182 and Section 211.
