Only Women Allowed To Travel in Mumbai Local, Not Children

With the surge of Covid-19 cases in the city, the Railways today have announced that "only women" are allowed to travel in local train and not children.

"The Railway Board has only permitted the ladies passengers to travel in local trains during the stipulated hours over the Mumbai Metropolitan region" was stated by the DRM/MMCT.

These decision comes after it was noticed that women have been travelling in trains with their children. The Government had strictly said during the lockdown that Childrens and Senior Citizens should avoid travelling. They are at the highest risk of getting caught with COVID-19.

Now the Board has assigned Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers at the entry gate of each station to stop Women with Childrens to travel.

"In view of the above, it is once again reiterated that only ladies are allowed during the timing stipulated and not children. Hence it is requested to Depute RPF at each entry gate and issue necessary instructions to restrict the entry of the children at the entrance itself" read another tweet of the DRM/MMCT.
