PM Modi Warns China and Others Over "Expansion" In India

PM Modi giving his speech

As every year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to the Border to celebrate Diwali with the Soldiers and gave an emphatic speech and took a short but significant dig at China over "expansion".

In his speech without naming China he said that these "expansionist forces" show a "distorted mindset which belongs to the 18th Century". He warned such forces against taking Advantage of India's tolerance and said that the country's soldiers will give "prachand jawab"(fierce reply) if the borders are threatened.

"India believes in a policy of understanding and making others understand.. but if an attempt is made to test out resolve, then the country will give a fierce reply".

PM Modi would go on and spend the day at Longewala Post in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

He would also go on and remember the Battle of Longewala in 1971 between a small regiment of Indian Soldiers and a large army of Pakistani militants (The Film Border 1997 is dedicated to this battle) and his respects to those heroes.

Last Year he visited Jammu and Kashmir Rajouri District to celebrate Diwali with soldiers who were guarding the Line of Control (LoC).
