Women In Mumbai Held For Carrying Cocaine Worth Rs 6 Crore

 

For the second time within a week, the Directorate Revenue of Intelligence (DRI) have seized drugs from the City of Mumbai after they arrested a Malwani women from Mumbai Airport for carrying 1kg of Cocaine worth Rs 6 Crore.

DRI arrested Ellena Kasakatira(43) under sections of Narcotic Drug and Substance Act and she was produced before a magistrate court which has remanded her till December 7 in Judicial Custody. She was hiding the drug in her trolley bag.

DRI officials recieved a tip that Ellena travelling from Dubai to Mumbai was carrying something suspicious. On her arrival in Mumbai, her bags were examined which resulted in her getting caught and recovering of two packages concealed in a cavity in a trolley bag.

It is said that the contraband was wrapped with black carbon paper to evade detection during screening. "On Opening the packages we found white powder. A test confirmed it was pure cocaine" said an offical.

Earlier this week, the DRI had seized around 500 grams of Cocaine which was shipped from a parcel and Arrested 4 persons. Cocaine is the most expensive and preferred drug in higher society added a DRI offical.
