The woman's charred body was found near a pond at Dasarajupalli road in Prakasam district. The woman was a resident of Kammapalem on the outskirts of Ongole.
Bhuvaneswari was pursuing her MBA from Narayana University and also used to work as a village volunteer. The woman's death came to light at around 8 pm when the cops learnt about the case. A security guard at the SIMS Hospital informed the cops about the incident.
Cops & Investigation; Woman's handbag found near body!
The police reached the spot after being informed and found the woman's charred body lying on a handicapped tricycle. The woman's handbag was also found next to the tricycle, reported The Times of India. The woman's Aadhaar card and mobile phone were also found in the handbag.
Neither any petrol can nor any other flammable liquid could be found by the cops, from near the dead body. Bhuvaneswari's mother told the cops that she spoke to her daughter at 6.49 pm. Bhuvaneswari told her mother that she would reach home in 30 minutes. When Bhuvaneswari did not return home by 7.30 pm, her mother tried to call her but the phone had been switched off.
A cop in on to the case said that the woman's body had been confined to the tricycle but her hands were not tied. The cop added, "It looks like a case of murder. There are chances that she was first killed and later set ablaze."
