Kohli's 85 Not Enough to Save India from Losing In The 3rd T20I

2 days after clinching the T20I series, India took on Australia in the 3rd T20 trying to whitewash the Aussies in their own turf. Indian Captain Virat Kohli won the toss and Elected to bowl first.

Australia had one change, with Captain Aaron Finch returning to the side replacing Marcus Stoinis. He didn't have the type of return he wanted as he lost his wicket on the second ball he faced without troubling the scorers. Matthew Wade and Steve Smith then brought the rail back into the track by adding a partnership of 65 runs.

Washington Sundar who had already dimissed Finch, these time dismissed Steve Smith. Glenn Maxwell who was in a good form and he joined Wade in the middle. The duo started firing left and right and gave the Indian Bowlers a hard time.

Maxwell was dropped twice and was lucky one as he was caught out but it was a no ball. He added a dynamic knock of 54 balls of just 36 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. However the Indian Bowlers made a comeback and restricted Australia to a score of 186/5 by getting the wickets of Maxwell and Wade at a perfect time.

India didn't get a good chance, as they lost opener KL Rahul on the second ball of the first over. Dhawan and Kohli did the same job as Wade and Smith did by stabilizing the innings. Dhawan was then dismissed by Sweepson.

Unlike Australia, India kept losing Wickets in quick succession and were reduced to 100/4 in 13 overs. With 87 still required in 7 overs, Kohli was joined by last match' matchwinner Hardik Pandya. The duo added 44 Runs in just 4 overs.

All hope was lost for India after they lost Pandya and Kohi in quick succession in back to back overs. Virat Kohli scored 85 runs of 61 balls which included 4 fours and 3 sixes. The absence of All Rounder Ravindra Jadeja was felt by India. However Shardul Thakur played some great shots and took India's score to 174/7 in 20 overs as Australia avoided the whitewash and won the game by 12 runs.
