A Short Interview Of Bisharad Basnet:

Mr. Bisharad Basnet is from Nepal but he grew up in India and has an unbreakable relationship with India. Let us know about some untouched aspects of his life.

Early Life and Hardships

Bisharad Basnet: I spent my childhood in Medini Nagar (Daltonganj) which is in Jharkhand. I am from middle class family. My father used to work in the Indian Railways. We had small dreams and small needs. We were taught to study and get an administration job so that I would get pension on retirement and our livelihood could easily be run but I was not good in studies nor did I want to do any job. Even after I saw my father working very hard, the basic needs of the family were also met with difficulty. My mother was very diligent, she worked part time to pay for our needs and school fees. While leaving Nepal, my mom used to buy the latest camera, bed sheet, woolen blankets and used to sell them in India. Seeing all this, I wanted to help them and give them all the happiness. Then I thought of doing something which has name, fame and money. I was looking for something interesting and I found all of those in acting.

Deepening Interest in Acting

Bisharad Basnet: I wanted people remember me because of my talent. I was confused in childhood regarding which profession to choose. I sometimes I wanted to become a doctor, an engineer, an army. I guess I wanted to experience many lives and many emotions at the same time. That is why I opted to become an actor. Later I realised how difficult it is to be a good actor, then I started training myself under India's best teacher. I would like to thank all my gurus through Sanjana Cineglobal.

Acting Journey

Bisharad Basnet: My acting journey has been good. I have acted in 7 films so far. I have also done 4-5 advertising films. Acted in more than 10 short films.

Drift from Actor To Director

Bisharad Basnet: Life in Mumbai was very difficult. I needed money for daily expenses. Then I met a director who directed advertisements and documentaries. He allowed me to join his team as an assistant. For 3 years, I worked as his assistant and he trained me well. Acting was my first love and it will always be, but to show my creativity, I direct what is on my mind. I have directed 2 feature films in Nepali. Also made 2 short films which went to the International Film Festival. Made lots of advertisements for corporate.

Bisharad's Film Direction Career?

Bisharad Basnet: I have directed 2 Nepali films. One is named 'Mr. Virgin' and the name of the other is 'Na yeta na uta'. Both these films were given a lot of affection by the audience. Both films have earned well and established me as a successful director. Mr. Virgin is very close to my heart because it is my first film. My short film 3rd Law was selected at several film festivals.

An Acting Guru & Acting School Runner

Bisharad Basnet: For the last 15 years I have been teaching acting to aspiring actors. I teach them the tools, techniques, and rules of acting and direct them how to hone their skills. I have discovered my teaching process after 15 years and it is helping people.
