Demba Ba screaming at the official Sebastian Coltescu |
In a shocking events in Paris, the Group H clash between Paris Saint Germain and Istanbul Basaksheir took ugly turns and the game was suspended after a delay of two hours when 4th offical Sebastian Coltescu was alleged for using racial abuse against Istanbul Basaksheir's Assistant Coach Pierre Webo.
The Game was initially stopped at the 13th minute at the Parc des Princes, with both sets of players discussing at the sidelines for more than 10 minutes.
Basaksheir substitute Demba Ba was seen furious at Coltescu and lashed out at him saying "You never said 'this white guy'. Why when you mention a black guy,do you have to say 'this black guy'?".
After this the Basaksheir players walked down the tunnel and back into the locker room followed by the PSG players and the match officals.
The Union of European Football Associations(UEFA) have issued a statement that both teams have agreed to resume the play with a different team of officals on Wednesday at 17:55 GMT (11:25 PM IST) from the 14th minute and have said a "through Investigation" will take place in this matter.
Soon Istanbul Basaksheir's Twitter account would post a image with "No To Racism" which was supported by PSG and others. In a time when the Black Lives Matter and No Room for Racism movement are going on, such incidents really hurt the sentiment of people and makes us thing whether a change will ever happen or not.
