India Stun Australia to win at the Gabba;wins the series 2-1

Team India recorded a historic win today as they Stun Australia to win the 4th Test match by 3 wickets and end Australia's 32 Year Unbeaten Record at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Having bowled out the Aussies for 294 in the third innings,India needed 328 runs to win. With Rain curtailing the 4th day as well, India headed into Day 5 with the aim of chasing down 324 more runs in 100 overs.

Though India didn't get the start they wanted this time as Rohit Sharma was dismissed quickly after he edged out to Pat Cummins. With the score at 18/1 after his dismissal, Shubman Gill decided to take matters in his own hands.

Supported by Cheteshwar Pujara from one end,Gill kept on firing from the other. Pujara on the other hand was well tested by the Aussies and suffered around 6-7 body blows from short pitches. Though that was not enough to keep him down.

He and Gill added a 114 run partnership. Gill was unlucky to not get his hundred as he edged out to Nathan Lyon and was caught out at the slip by Steve Smith. Gill missed out his century by 9 runs but played a fine knock of 91 runs off 146 to lay the platform for the next batsmen.

Cheteshwar Pujara kept on fighting from the other end and Completed his fifty of the 196th ball he faced. Captain Ajinkya Rahane was looking good but his innings was cut short by a short ball which got the better of him from Pat Cummins.

With the scores at 167/3 Pujara was joined on the pitch by Rishabh Pant. The duo saw off the attack and ended the second session with the scores at 183/3. India needed 145 runs more from the last session.

Pant started off firing as Pujara kept on supporting. The resilience of Pujara was broken down by Cummins. He was judged out for an LBW by the umpire. The DRS showed Umpire's Call and Pujara was dismissed with the score now at 228/4. Pujara scored 56 Runs of 211 balls.

After the dismissal of Pujara, India still needed 100 runs from 19.4 overs remaining. From a T20 Point of View that was easily achievable but from a Test Match Point of View all 3 results were still possible.

Pant decided to go all out and he was well supported by Debutant Washington Sundar as they got India closer to victory. Quick wickets of Sundar and Shardul Thakur got the nerves a little jangling but Pant kept his composure, showed his Experience and made sure India kept past the finishing line.

His Unbeaten knock of 89 from 138 balls with 9 fours and a six made sure India reached the target with 3 overs still left to play. He was judged the Player of the Match.
