VK Sasikala released from prison after 4 years;admitted into hospital

 

On Wednesday 27th January,2021 the former All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(AIADMK) General Secretary VK Sasikala was released from the Bengaluru Central Jail after completing her 4 year sentence of imprisonment in a disproportionate assests case in 2017.

However she is now admitted into a hospital due to her suffering from COVID-19. The Hospital has advised her to stay admitted for atleast 2-3 days.

The Doctors at the hospital have said "She is not fit for discharge as of Wednesday. She is being given intermittent oxygen supply and is stable. She will have to stay in the hospital for the next three days."

Her release comes on a day when Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami inaugrated a Rs 79 Crore Memorial for Jayalalithaa along Chennai's Marina Beach. Jayalalithaa was one of the Prime Accused in the assest case in which Sasikala was imprisoned.
