All you need to know about Naaz Ekta’s “Avesta Foundation”

In 2020, during most part of pandemic, Avesta Foundation, an NGO operating from Veera Desai road in Andheri (West), Mumbai had joined the ranks by encountering major challenges.

  • Kudos to Ms. Naaz Ekta, the founder and director of Avesta Foundation who with her selfless services and dedication gets herself saddled along with the endless list of iconic women social activists and reformers of the past and present who have made a significant contribution to the society notwithstanding their humble background and beginning.

During those difficult times, the foundation delivered essential items including medicines and milk to the senior citizens, provided financial assistance, recharged mobile phones, fed the migrant workers, spoke to many distressed elderly to steady their nerves and provided monthly rations to many starving families. With a participation of around 500 people, they also fed the poor, jobless, needy and deserving through their weekly “langar seva” (community kitchen).

  • Ministers, politicians, bureaucrats and celebrities including MLA and Cabinet Minister of Tourism and Environment for the Government of Maharashtra - Aaditya Uddhav Thackeray have lauded Naaz's noble works. On meeting Naaz and learning about her social activities, Aaditya Thackeray said, “I am happy to know that this young girl has selflessly supported the deprived senior citizens and I am proud of her.

Naaz Ekta’s Avesta Foundation like their tagline “Life with Dignity” and with the support of an able, experienced and self-motivated team, has been selflessly taking care of the destitute and helpless elderly people since more than a decade. Right from an early age of 15, the emotionally concerned Naaz who had faced a troubled childhood, has been helping all those neglected elderly people selflessly; wiping their tears, giving them medical aid, feeding them, providing shelter and bringing back the smile on their lips.

  • 32-years-old Naaz through her further plans wants to take her Foundation to next level by building and operating ‘Old Age Homes’ equipped with all  modern amenities such as health center, yoga & meditation center, library, swimming pool and other recreational facilities; in short a holistic home for the old and differently-abled where the most vulnerable section of the society can lead a healthy life devoid of worldly worries and anxiety with their restored dignity.

She proudly says, “Adopting the destitute senior citizens and providing them shelter, food, medical care with personal care and attention is our life-mission.” She further adds, “I want to do my bit, and I believe if all of us come forward and do our bit even in a small way, together we can make a lot of difference to the society we live in. Most importantly, we have to start from somewhere and sometime”.
