BMC files case against Bollywood Actor for breaking COVID-19 Norms

On Monday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) filed a police case against a Bollywood Actor for breaking home quarantine rules after being tested positive for COVID-19. However the Civic body has not disclosed the identity of the actor.

According to sources, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed under sections 188,269 and 270 of the IPC. Under these the offender can be imprisoned for 2 years.

They took their social media and posted the report with the statement "No Compromise On City's Safety! BMC has filed an FIR against a Bollywood Actor for non compliance to COVID19 Guidelines on testing positive."

According to the statement by BMC, the actor had been tested positive for COVID-19 on March 9. Despite that the actor was seen on the shooting sets at public places. When the BMC went to their home, the person refused to cooperate with the Civic body.

"The actors action can result in other people getting infected, and in the spread of COVID-19 in the community" read the statement released by BMC.
