Mass Massacre & Riots in Bengal continues as Mamata Banerjee takes oath for Third Term

As India saw how "Nation's Didi" Mamata Banerjee led TMC swept over the Bengal elections with a stunning victory of securing 213 seats in the Vidhan Sabha whereas its rival party BJP secured 77 seats. But is it actually a victory or is it a planned gameplay for spreading mass violence aand massacre. Well, the following incidents that have taken place since 2nd May are proof of it.

Hours after the assembly election result was declared in West Bengal, there were reports of nearly a dozen people being killed in incidents of post-poll violence. Violence was primarily reported from Burdwan and West Midnapore. However total number of casualties remain unconfirmed.

While the BJP alleged six casualties, claiming they were killed by “TMC goons”, and that multiple party offices and homes of its supporters were vandalised and set ablaze. It also alleged that its women workers and Nandigram poll winner Suvendu Adhikari’s vehicle were attacked. A day-long dharna (protest) was supposed to be held by the saffron party plans across the country today, when Mamata Banerjee took her oath as chief minister.

On its part, the TMC junked the BJP’s claims, with Banerjee saying it was “spreading lies using old pictures of riots that did not take place in Bengal”. The TMC said four of its party workers were killed. The Indian Secular Front, a Congress-Left ally, said one of its workers died in North 24 Parganas district.

Following the reports of violence, the ministry of home affairs said that it has sought a report from the state government about alleged incidents of “post-election violence against opposition political workers in the state”.

Reports from over the social media as well as authentic sources have said that even women, children and innocents are being assaulted, raped, murdered in Bengal. According to a news report by The Hindu, The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognisance of attacks on women. Also a report from livelaw.in stated that The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has taken cognisance and has sought action taken report from West Bengal Govt.

The BJP released a list of 24 incidents across the state in which its workers were targeted. It also separately listed the party workers killed: Shova Rani Mondal (Jagaddal, North 24 Parganas); Uttam Ghosh (Ranaghat, Nadia); Abhijit Sarkar (Beliaghat, Kolkata); Horom Adhikari (Sonarpur Dakshin, South 24 Parganas); Momik Moitra (Sitalkuchi, Cooch Behar); and, Gourab Sarkar (Bolpur, Birbhum).

According to BJP, Shova Rani Mondal was killed when she tried to save her son from being attacked by TMC workers." My brother, BJP worker Abhijit Sarkar was killed in Beliaghat after he posted videos on Facebook describing how they had ransacked his house and offices," said the victim's brother Biswajit Sarkar. Uttam Ghosh, a BJP man from Ranaghat, was also allegedly got killed by rival party workers. A 19-year-old Sitalkuchi youthwas also killed by suspected TMC workers, The Times of India quoted Dilip Ghosh as saying.

Shahjahan Shah (38) and Bibhash Bag (30) were declared dead when taken to the Burdwan Medical College and Hospital. Kakali Khsetrapal (47) was declared dead when taken to the Jamalpur Hospital, local sources said.

TMC supporters were also accused of vandalising the homes and shops of BJP workers in various parts of Galshi after the results were announced. Several shops belonging to BJP supporters were vandalised in and around Ramgopalpur, Shirrai and Karakdal. Several people were also beaten up, PTI has reported.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, 4th & 5th May 2021, Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote a tweet along with images showing large groups of people forecfully migrating from Bengal to Assam.
