On Monday night, Spain edged out Croatia to progress through to the next round in a fasanatic 8 goal thriller.
Spain looked good from the start but somehow found themselves 1-0 down after an unfortunate and unexpected own goal from Pedri. The Barcelona youngster tried to play out to back pass to his goalkeeper Unai Simon who uncharacteristically completely failed to control the ball.
Spain levelled up 18 minutes later as Pablo Sarabia took advantage of a loose ball in the box as he lashed on Jose Gaya's intial effort which was saved by the keeper.
Spain then found themselves 3-1 with just 13 minutes left to play as Cesar Azpilicueta and Ferran Torres both scored to give them some breathing space...
... However the 2018 FIFA World Cup Runners-Up Croatia refused to bow down and extraordinarily made it 3-3 in the second minute of stoppage time as Mario Pasalic headed into the bottom corner before a Mislav Orsic close range strike in the 85th minute.
For the second time in the knockout phase extra time was required. Spain proved to be too strong for Croatia though as two quick fire goals from Alvaro Morata in the 100th minute and Mikel Oyarzabal in the 103rd minute to make it 5-3.
They will now play Switzerland in the Quarter Finals who themselves stranger an extraordinary comeback to knock out World Champions France.
