Movie buffs have eagerly been waiting to watch flicks featuring their favorites on the big screen. Though the government had eased Covid curbs with further relaxation in various states including Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra but the cinema halls and multiplex are still waiting to re-open.
Passionate actor and Member of Parliament (M.P.) from Gorakhpur constituency - Ravi Kishan has raised eyebrows after giving the nod to the first historical film being made on unsung freedom fighters from Chauri Chaura (a town in Uttar Pradesh) during 1922 which would surely garner footfalls during its release. This will favour the forthcoming U.P elections in 2022.

Boldly titled as "1922 Pratikar Chauri Chaura" , the historical Hindi feature film is being made by renowned author and filmmaker Abhik Bhanu with Anju Khare as the co-producer and Ravi Shanker Khare as its presenter. The film is being produced under the banner of Sarayu Vision. The film will be canned in prime locations of Uttar Pradesh like Chauri Chaura, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Allahabad, Lucknow and Varanasi.
Confirming the development a spokesperson of the celebrated actor says, “The pandemic woes have not deterred the spirit of seasoned actor. Ravi Kishan has liked the script and found it interesting. He has shown his willingness to feature in this period-drama. In his acting career of around three-decades this will be his first feature in a historical film and incidentally it is closer to his constituency.”

Director Abhik Bhanu says, “Ravi Kishan has given his nod and he will be playing a prominent role which has 58- significant characters. The film being the first of its kind is a tribute to the martyrs who were a part of the freedom struggle and have not been given a status in the history books. It is a well-researched script with the support of my strong 20-odd team of writers headed by eminent Professor Himanshu Chaturvedi.”

- In 2007 he dubbed Tobey Maguire’s role as Spider-Man in Spider-Man 3 into Bhopuri. This is the first Hollywood blockbuster film to include a Bhojpuri voice dub, along with Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubs.
