Ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Wednesday announced that they have entered into an alliance with Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP).
- Announcing the alliance, the Samajwadi Party tweeted that the two parties will join hands to fight the battle of the deprived, the oppressed, the backward, the Dalits, women, farmers, youth and the weaker section to defeat the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and make Uttar Pradesh clean from BJP.

In the 2017 elections, the BJP had bagged 312 seats. Meanwhile the SP had won 47 seats whereas SBSP won only 3 seats.
