Anil Deshmukh sent to judicial custody for 14 days in Money Laundering Case

On Saturday, Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was sent to a 14 Day judicial custody in the money laundering case. He was produced before a special holiday court today which remanded him custody till November 19.

The 71-year-old was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on late Monday night after a 12-hour interrogation. The agency is probing the 100 Crore Rs extortion case registered against him by the Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) on the complaint by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.

Param Bir Singh, who is absconding at the moment, had written a letter in which he had alleged that Deshmukh had ordered former Mumbai Cop, Sachin Vaze to collect Rs 100 Crore for him from top restaurants and bars in Mumbai.

Meanwhile Sachin Vaze on Saturday was sent to police custody till November 13. A case of extortion was filed against him in July. He was dismissed from service in May 2021.
