Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar on Tuesday hinted about the possibility of imposing a lockdown in the financial capital amid the constant surge in COVID-19 cases. The mayor said that if the daily COVID-19 cases in Mumbai cross the 20,000 mark, then lockdown might be imposed.

"We will have to impose a lockdown in Mumbai if the daily COVID cases cross the 20,000 mark" Pednekar said.

Pednekar also said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is likely to speak about the COVID situation in the state in the next 2-3 days.
