The National Investigation Agency (NIA) have arrested two Mumbai-based associates of gangster Chhota Shakeel and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
The accused have been identified as Arif Abubakar Shaikh (59) and Shabbir Abubakar Shaikh (51). They have been linked with the handling of the illegal activities and terror financing of the D-Company in western suburbs of Mumbai.
They will be produced before the special NIA court on Friday seeking their police custody for investigation.
The arrests were made in connection with the raids conducted by the NIA in Mumbai on Monday. The agency had arrested Shakeel's brother-in-law Salim Quershi aka Salim Fruit on Monday for interrogation.
