Sanjay Raut gets 14-day judicial custody remand in Patra Chawl case.

On Monday, a special court in Mumbai ordered 14-day judicial custody remand to Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut in a money laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in the redevelopment of Patra Chawl (row tenement) in suburban Goregaon.

The court granted Raut's request for home food and medicines but denied his plea for bedding. The judge said as per the prison manual, jail authorities make adequate bed arrangements.

On 1st August, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Raut following probe into alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of the Patra Chawl and related financial transactions involving Raut’s wife and associates.

He was produced before special PMLA judge MG Deshpande at the end of his ED custody today.

The federal probe agency did not seek further extension of his custody. The judge then sent Raut to judicial custody.
