In a major jolt to the Indian music industry, renowned ghazal and playback singer Padma Shri recipient Pankaj Udhas has passed away at 11 am on 26 February 2024, Monday. He was 72.
In an official Instagram post, the legend's daughter shared that he had been suffering from prolonged illness. He was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for some time.
Singer Sonu Nigam paid his condolences to the legend through an Instagram post with the caption - "One important part of my childhood is lost today..."
Condolences have been flooding down the social media. The last rites will be performed tomorrow.
