Marking National Handloom Day, IIFL Finance has released a short documentary that highlights the legacy of India’s handloom artisans. Filmed in Alaipura and Madanpura, the video explores the intricate work behind Banarasi sarees, showcasing traditional techniques like kadhwa, tanchoi, and meenakari. It captures the artistry of the Momin Ansari community, whose weaving traditions date back centuries.
The documentary, produced by IIFL’s in-house content team, emphasizes that handloom is not just a craft but a crucial pillar of India’s MSME sector, supporting over 3 million weaver families and driving rural employment. IIFL Finance reiterates its commitment to strengthening small businesses by offering lending services that help them grow and stay resilient.
Manish Mayank, Business Header of Gold Loan, IIFL Finance said:
This is our tribute to the weavers who quietly carry India’s cultural story forward. Their work is living heritage, woven with patience, pride, and purpose.
Manav Verma, Chief Marketing Officer, IIFL Finance said:
Handlooms are more than fabric — they’re stories you can wear. Supporting our weavers means preserving a tradition that speaks to India’s heart and history.
