| We demand a justice for Blind People from BMC |
The National Association of Blind(NAB) have approached the Bombay High Court to file a case against BMC for not paying the salary of over 250 Blind BMC workers in lockdown.
A division bench of Justice AA Sayed and NR Borkar on Friday asked the BMC to file a reply affidavit to the PIL by NAB by September 10.
Advocate Uday Warunjikar who is fighting for the NAB submitted that BMC is not following the orders issued by centre and state government that allows person with disabilities to be exempted the essential service workers.
"It is difficult for a person with normal eyesight to travel and reach the place of work. When people are following social distancing and avoiding touching each other, no one will be willing to touch a blind person would be need of someone's help while travelling" petitioner said.
