The End is Nigh? Lionel Messi wants to leave Barcelona

 

The 8-2 defeat against eventually winners Bayern was the heaviest defeat of Barcelona in the UCL

It's offical. Lionel Messi has told FC Barcelona via fax that he wants to leave the club. This has caused a wide range of speculation around the world.

Lionel Messi (33) signed for Barcelona nearly 19 years ago as a teenager and has gone through the ranks of the club and has established as the greatest of all time. 10 La Liga Titles, 4 UEFA Champions League Titles and 6 Ballon d'Or are won the Argentinian.

The Decision to leave comes after Barcelona recent failures on the pitch and off the pitch and also dispute with the board with Former Director Eric Abdial and others. This Season was the first time Barcelona went trophyless since 2007. 

This season Barcelona finished 2nd, 5 points behind El Clasico Rivals Real Madrid despite being in the led before lockdown. They were knocked out of the Copa Del Rey in the Quarter Final by Athletic Bilbao and the recent 8-2 Humiliation suffered by the hands of eventually winners Bayern Munchen might have made Messi to think to leave.

Barcelona appointed Ronald Koeman as their new manager who has already left Messi's strike partner Luis Suarez out his future plans leaving the Uruguayan to think about his own career.

After the news broke out Barcelona's Former Captain and Club Legend Carlos Puyol tweeted out that he respects Messi's decision to leave. 

Journalist Marcelo Bechler who was the first to break out the news of Neymar leaving Barcelona, claims that Messi wants to join Manchester City.

An emergency board meeting of Barcelona took place after the announcement and are now speculating on what's to happen in the future.
