Prasoon Joshi recently opened up about the ongoing Bollywood drug row. Expressing his views on whether the industry has lost its credibility, he said that he can see the industry’s weakening ties with society. He also added that this disconnect of Bollywood from reality has cost them a lot.
The CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) Chairman said that somewhere in the past when they started making films, there was a great relationship that the film industry shared with the society, art, and culture. He added that now, he can see the weakening of those ties. The film industry has become rather all-pervasive. Art is very democratic, very inclusive and this became very exclusive. According to him, this disconnect from reality has cost the cinema industry a lot.
