Real Madrid win El Clasico, Khabib Retires with undefeated record and other sports Roundup this weekend

It was a thrilling weekend for sports fans all around the world. From Lewis Hamilton's 92nd Career Race win to Dodgers one win away from World Series to the El Clasico we have got it all covered.

The biggest headline in sports this weekend was the "El Clasico". Also know as "The Classic" it is a football match between arguably football's two biggest clubs, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. The two share a staggering 60 La Liga Titles and 18 Champions League crowns between them.

Barcelona were not in that best form and so were Real. The Los Blancos came into the match with a shocking home defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in the opening group stage game of the UCL. Pressure was on manager Zinedine Zidane as reports suggested that if he can't improve the form of the team, then he might lose his job.

Real made a great start as Federico Valverde scored inside 5 minutes to give them the lead. The lead though didn't last long enough as Ansu Fati become the youngest scorer in El Clasico history as he equalised in the 8th minute to make it 1-1.

The turning point of the match came in the 60th minute, when VAR decided to give Real Madrid a penalty after Sergio Ramos was pulled back Lenglet. He himself took the penalty and scored to make it 2-1. Then in the dying minutes, a superb work of Individual brillance from Luka Modric made it 3-1 for Madrid who enjoyed the first Clasico win at the Nou Camp since the Super Cup in 2017.

He retired with an unbeaten record

Another headline for sports fans was at UFC 254 when Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov took on Justin Gaethje in Abu Dhabi. He won the fight with a broken foot in the second round after he made Gaethje submit. Soon after the win he would fall down on his knees and remember his coach and father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov who died in July 2020 due to COVID-19. He said that his mother said not to go to this fight, but he wanted to respect his father and now he is done fighting. He finished with a 29-0 Win/Loss record.
