In a horrific and disgraceful incident of sexual abuse reported from Haryana, a man allegedly raped his 17-year-old daughter for almost seven years. Police arrested him following a complaint by the teenage survivor.
Minor survivor narrates the Trauma she went through:
The survivor, in her complaint registered at the woman police station in Hisar, stated that her father, who works as with a government official, had been repeatedly sexually assaulting her for the past seven years and gave threatened to murder her whenever she protested. He impregnated her multiple times and forced her to undergo abortions. She further alleged that he also molested her younger sister, aged 11 years, according to a report by The Times of India.
Police interrogate accused:
Based on the complaint, police registered a case against the accused under sections 376 (2) (repeated rape), 376 (2) f (rape by guardian), 313 (causing miscarriage without woman’s consent), 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 354-A (1) (explicit sexual overtures) of the Indian Penal Code.
As the survivor is a minor, relevant charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act have also been slapped on the accused. Following this, the accused was taken into custody, police said, adding that his questioning is underway.
