Inter's first win over Juventus since 2016 takes them level on points with Milan

An important fixture took place at the San Siro in Milan when Inter Milan hosted Defending Champions Juventus with both looking to get a win and get back in the title race. Inter were second on 37 points whereas Juventus despite beating AC Milan were on 5th on 33 points.

The Old Lady despite only losing 1 match prior to this game were 7 behind Leaders AC Milan. The I Rossoneri have been on another level this season as we can't rule out that with 12 wins,4 draws and 1 loss in their 17 matches.

Inter took an early lead in the 12th minute when Nico Barella's inch perfect cross was converted in by a header from the former Juventus Midfielder Arturo Vidal. Juventus's keeper Szczesny had to make a number of crucial saves to keep the score at 1-0.

Nico Barella then decided to have a go himself after he was played through by Centre Back Alessandro Bastoni. He brought the ball under control, went ahead of Juve's left back Frabotta and slammed in a shot into the roof of the net to make it 2-0 in the 52nd minute.

Juventus tried hard but were unable to find the back of the Inter net. This was Inter's first win in the Series A over Juventus since 2016. With this win, Inter are now level on points with city rivals Milan still on top due to a game in hand. If Juventus are to win a 10th straight league title then they will have to pick themselves up quickly and find their ruthless form again.
